To what we call career fair...

What if human beings don't have expectations? The world will indeed be a smoother and much more happier place to live.
It is often found that expectations are hard to meet because they keep growing and are never bounded by a piece of paper as many of the professional contracts are!
I don't know what one expects from a career fair but for me, this is a event where employers (who have open positions in their organization) come in and browse the resumes to short list candidates who may be interviewed by the recruiting team to capture the talent. But things differ a bit in definition (at least in my university) where career fairs are nothing more than a goodies expo where attractive and branded freebies are doled-out. Resumes are the piece of garbage which if collected (most of the people deny accepting resumes saying that we better apply through website! God knows why do they come then to Universities...Prolly to get a day off) are used to draw pictures in the leisure time.
What do you call such events?

Hi Manish,

I am so glad for having not missed out a blog like this, that could just be everything for a person like me who is all set with a desire to make it to The US for MIS. Yes, I am hunting for all the information pertaining to MIS. I have just passed out of my bachelor's (2009) in Information Systems Management. My ambition has always been to do MIS in US, but the actual problem that is stopping me from undertaking this whole process is that, I only hold 15 years of education i.e, (10+2+3), whereas the basic requirement in US is to hold 16 years of education. In such a case how do u think i can overcome this problem n fulfill the basic requirement.
Please do reply, as this would mean a lot to me. Thanks :)

I have a GPA of 2.60 and I want to Apply for Masters In InFormation Systems. But whichever University I see has a minimum requirement of 3.0, what should i do to increase my chances in these universities?

P.S: I still have to give my GRE, but I am really concerned that whatever my score be my GPA will restrict me from applying to Top universities.
