Is MS in MIS worth coming to US for? ...(contd)

I probably forgot to add one point in my last articles...That was the cheat sheets :)
Yes, even those are allowed in Masters program here!

Here is then the crux:
Most of the US universities realize the source of their income i.e. India. Thus more and more universities are trying to follow up the routine procedures that are followed in Indian Curriculum. This is to provide the comfort level to students in order to retain them. Thus in order to really learn something in your masters career, you yourself will have to exploit the technology that is available at a great ease. The curriculum for MIS is not something you don't find in India, but its the surroundings that make these institutes continue at this scale...

I'm still not sure to go MIS, eventhough i'm thinking about it. My personal liking for management and unable to do MBA from good university due to cost, work exp, making me think about MIS. What shall I do? Are there any other good cources I can take to succeed in field of management? how MS in CS would weight over MS in MIS and vice versa? kindly reply me on rangde1pratu@gmail.com

I need your advise as to how this course MIS is?How are the job prospects after completing the MIS course? In your blog, you have mentioned that "Is MS in MIS worth coming to US",please could you tell me what exactly do you mean by this?MIS is basically a course where you learn both technology and business,so after completing this course will we not get into a dilemma as to whether to get into a management or a technical job.Could you also me let me know as to which universities are good to do your MS in MIS? I have good communication skills and managerial skills, but MBA at US is not my destaination due to Cost, little work exp, I got to start PG by fall 2012. Are there any other cources better that MIS suitable to me? I'm still not so sure about MIS, because course description at univesity website is not gicing me clear picture.

Please could you reply to this.My email ID is daradepr@gmail.com

Hi Manish,

I am planning to do my MS in MIS. I have done my B.E. in E&TC from Sinhgad, pune university. Presently, I am working with Accenture. It has been 2 years now.
10th,12th,BE - all distinction

1. What is the minimum score required to get in GRE for applying to universities for this course?
2. Can you suggest at least 5 good universities that I can apply to for pursuing this course, that charge nominal/affordable tuition fees and in terms of good placements (Placements is an important concern as the loan amount etc. need to be repaid)?
3. Also, universities offering some kind of scholarships or financial aids.
4. The job prospects after completing this course as I am not very interested in programming. I am looking at Management consulting as a career option.
5. Internship options

Looking forward to your reply. My email ID is 123prash.shinde@gmail.com

Thanks,
Prashant
